The Emporia Gazette: Print & Digital Newspaper Cover Design
Vol. 127 No.158
During my time at The Emporia Gazette, I had the opportunity to lead the creative direction and execution of a print and digital newspaper cover design that was mass-produced and distributed to thousands of readers. This project highlights my expertise in layout design (pagination), visual storytelling, and brand-aligned creativity, ensuring the final product was both visually engaging and professionally polished. As the sole designer and paginator, I was responsible for:
Conceptualizing the Design: Crafting a visually compelling cover that captured the essence of the featured stories while staying true to The Emporia Gazette’s brand identity.
Layout Design (Pagination): Structuring the content in a clean, reader-friendly format that balanced text, imagery, and white space for optimal readability.
Print & Digital Optimization: Ensuring the design was adaptable for both print and digital platforms, maintaining consistency and impact across all formats.
Attention to Detail: Meticulously aligning every element, from headlines to images, to create a cohesive and professional final product.
The result was a striking newspaper cover that not only grabbed readers’ attention but also enhanced their overall experience. This project showcased my ability to manage the entire design process—from concept to execution—while meeting tight deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.
